“To spark off the day, we’ll have a fine Beaujolais…

And a few canapés! Yeah!  Bring us five!

And arugulla and endive to feel fully alive, splashed with a mild vinaigrette!

Relax, my pie, prepare yourself. You haven’t seen anything yet!

We’ll have vichyssoise and escargots and oysters Rockefeller.

Then, Prime Filet my favorite way!   For my lady… Steak TA TA!

And fettuccini?  No let’s linguini!  An array of fresh legumes;

Asparagus spears, sweet baby carrots,

Ripe honey nut squash, good healthy habits!

And then to complete?
My most favorite treats!

Mile high chocolate cake and boysenberry beach plum pie!

“Yes, Indeed…!   Bring us the whole
affair!

“Very well, Mr. Edible…!”

“Dinner is coming presently…”

“But you will have to wait, Sir!”

But Edmund Edible was not listening.

He just sat there wanting his feast to begin,

Not noticing, not noticing, anything!

Not the chill in the air,
a shift taking place

Nor the pale blue expression washing over Missy's face,

Nor the light growing dimmer, the mood turning grim

Nor the walls, nor the Door… slowly moving in.

Once upon a time there was a door,

A huge ten foot wooden one painted plain white,

And behind that door lived a woman who wondered.

She wondered about almost everything,

But mostly about what she could do.

She knew that hunger could end on this planet.
.
She intended the
dream to come true!

Enchanting, Poetic, Lyrical and
Full of Surprises;
Awakening Us to Greater Possibilities!

So setting about to create this So door… very powerful

Which she didn’t know how to do

She invited friends to dinner.

They envisioned a door and a circular plan.

“To ensure that things get around!”

“That all do survive!”

“And everyone is king!”

“Stable and fertile the ground.”

“Thriving fields of
fragrant thyme.”

“Rows of home baked pies!”

“Wellsprings of sparkling water….”

“Beneath the infinite sky!”

And as she settled him into his soft comfy chair,

Mis’ smiled a weak smile and bit the thick air!

Bit it right through to the dreaded unknown,

DA DOOAH…DA DOOAH…the chill filled his bones!

As darkness descended; time turning late.

As the wild winds of confusion sought their escape,

As Missy rose from her seat, sucking in the crude air,

Til all that once was, was no longer there.

‘Til the flowers had dwindled, the trees withered, and shorn,

‘Til the things that he loved were simply no more,

‘Til all that remained

fear surged though his veins,

Was a table, a chair, an old tarnished spoon,

That despicable glass of water, dried twigs, and gloom.

And Edmund Edible  now dumbfounded,

Clinging to his chair!
